My Hearts on a String...

After multiple inspirations online, I no longer could handle another minute of vicarious virtual crafting, so yesterday, armed with a basket of ingredients, I headed to my mom's for an afternoon of papercutting and needlework... I have a weakness for garlands, so had decided that would be THE project. And so, with sewing machine, paper punch, and papers, my valentine garland came to life...

Each heart is a stack of three hearts sewn about 1 inch apart. I have to tell you though, something that made me laugh. As I cut them, I placed them in stacks on a bakers cooling rack to keep them in order preparing them to sew. The cookie rack was the first thing I saw in her cupboard that I thought might work to lay them flat on. At one point, she looked down not knowing what I was up to and curiously asked, "Are you going to put those in the oven?" I had to smile...and then we laughed together.

I was able to make three garlands... one for my mom to show her I love her,
one to mail to my daughter who lives far away, because she likes garlands too, and one for the window in the window seat where my husband Bob does his exercises as he recovers from knee surgery... just to let him know I am thinking about him...
isn't that what Valentines Day is all about?...
Warm loving hearts for a cold wintry day...

Happy Crafting all ...
with love,
Net Loft Dotty

Love you too Mrs. Dilly Dally... This was definitely a dilly dally day...after the heart garland I finally finished up putting mother of pearl buttons on a cross stitch Christmas tree that has been waiting for two months to finish! A great dilly dally afternoon.
