PARADISE Found!

January and February are the months that represent two things for me… taxes and trade shows. Between balancing books and collecting catalogs, my mind at this point feels a bit overwhelmed and overstuffed…sorting receipts and documents, entering transactions, and then sifting through booths of merchandise, picking and choosing carefully what the Net Loft will have next to offer can leave a brain caught in a tangle of massive information.

In light of this, quite thankfully, Sue accompanied me to the Craft and Hobby trade show in Anaheim last month. In reality, it was more like I accompanied HER. Sue is incredibly organized and fantastic when it comes to papercrafts. She keeps the shop well stocked and in good order. Here at the show, together we were able to find some wonderful new products to share with you, which are now beginning to arrive at the store. I will be sharing some of the new releases here on this blog so you will know what to look for in our papercrafts department that is the latest and the greatest for all your upcoming papercraft projects. We hope to have some fun classes and workshops this summer that will feature some of these new products as well, so stay tuned.

First up is a line from Little Yellow Bicycle called PARADISE. The Little Yellow Bicycle Spring line is inspiring and inviting. We love the colors and the embellishments and also love one of the sample projects they had featured…a printers tray shadowbox featuring the “5 Things Pocket” as well as many of the very cute Paradise embellisment packs. We will be getting these printers trays in stock in the near future and will be featuring a class this summer to make your very own.

While at the show we saw many creative shadowbox variations from various designers. What is great is that they give the opportunity to create a multi dimensional wall hanging that incorporates photos and the opportunity to use many of the fun thick embellishments that are more difficult to incorporate in standard scrapbook pages. These projects can generally be completed in a weekend and can use a combination of collected treasures, as well as some of the fun embellishments available at the shop in conjunction with just a handful of preselected photos that follow your theme.

I really like that the Little Yellow Bicycle “5 Things pocket” gives you a jumping off place to get you started, and the coordinating papers and embellishments help pull the project together visually. Not only are they great for a project like this, but also work well for a small mini-booklet or on pages of chipboard book. Each little envelope has a petite card on it to write a few journaling words that you can slip in and out of the envelope for an interactive touch. You can choose any topic you want to be what the 5 things you love about describe and embellish.

There are more ideas on the Paradise Little Yellow Bicycle website.

They show some great examples of using this new product release for spring scrapbooking and cards. Rosettes are a popular theme this season, and there are rosette kits available in the various colors that are precut and prescored ready to be folded into a coordinating rosette to compliment the themed papers and motifs.

Be sure to look for the new PARADISE collection as well as some of the other new Little Yellow Bicycle products just in and out on the shelves at The Net Loft and be inspired to cut and glue and have some great paper crafting fun!

We will be posting more of our new products as they arrive. In the meantime...Carve out some moments for crafting...and know that we always love to see what you are making, so be sure to stop by and give us a show and tell or even post on facebook for all to see.

Have a fun time at it!

As always, yours truly in paper, glue, yarn and thread, ribbon, buttons, felt and fiber...

Net Loft Dotty
